DB is a collection of the kind of data - including maps - that customers most often see on the navigation display, for example the road data required for route searches, search data such as the addresses and phone numbers used to find the destination location, voice guidance to help drivers change the course while driving and image-guidance to zoom in over intersections.
In other words, the superiority of maps depends on the accuracy and amount of data stored in the DB.
HYUNDAI MNSOFT focuses on stability, accuracy and immediacy in its DB. This has been realized through, variously, a deliberate push to streamline the time required to build DB and the process time through "physical inspect" conducted by 100 members every month. Also, customers have come on board through the "making a good map" initiative, while "integrated contents management system" delivers updated map DBs to customers quickly and fuss-free.
Physical inspection is literally a task done there on the spot.
Those in charge of the actual inspection drive their car to provide the ultimate in quality assurance, in line with the regular inspection schedule.
The data input team draws up a map made up of points, lines and faces based on the geographic information obtained by the inspection team.
At this stage, roads, building and apartment complexes are positioned on the map.
After entering data, this collection of data (DB) is very large and complex.
That is because unnecessary information and errors entered due to human errors are included in the DB.
Accordingly, quality evaluation helps reduce the amount of data and remove any errors, making sure users can enjoy accurate navigation, fuss-free.
The basis of any good navigation system is prompt updates.
HYUNDAI MNSOFT provides an updated high-quality DB that passes stringent quality controls every other month.
DB is updated every other month because it takes about two months to complete procedures from the actual inspection through to quality control.
HYUNDAI MNSOFT has developed a road data collection system to deliver more accurate DB to customers quickly and fuss-free. A survey vehicle with built-in camera to capture roads/traffic information on the roads was manufactured to simultaneously shoot front/rear/both sides of the road and automatically sort out road signs in pictures. Using the footage, examiners can upgrade the visual inspection to check the road/traffic information right away, cutting out mistakes or omissions. The level of professionalism in the on-the-spot surveying was improved and the scope of the survey was also extended. Thanks to this, customers can be provided with a better service that approximates more closely to the on-the-spot information. In addition, an integrated contents management server has not only improved data accuracy, as well as the essentials to the navigation, and the management of link between data, but it has also helped shorten DB process time. This has resulted in the current rapid response capability to customer error reports.
HYUNDAI MNSOFT will continue to do the utmost for customer satisfaction by introducing various improvements in the process.
